General Accountability

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible to provide superior service to all customers and assist in the daily operations and supervision of the Paint Shop store.

They are also responsible for inventory control and replenishment, helping achieve sales and operational expense control targets, dealing with customer service issues and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and performing daily retail store operations including sales processes, ordering, inventory control and other administrative processes as required.
  • Assist all customers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in sales planning and business development.
  • Actively take part in all training programs offered by the retail store.
  • Maintain merchandising standards established by operational managers including window displays, sales floor displays, promotional displays, etc.
  • Ensure Paint Shop Promotional Planner is executed each sales period.
  • Coach and support new and existing Sales Associates.
  • To actively participate in store activities including unloading of trucks, stocking shelves, carrying merchandise out for customers, having the ability to lift a determined weight of merchandise and delivering paint when needed.
  • Supports and maintains loss prevention and OH&S policies and procedures on a daily basis.
  • Present a professional, neat appearance, maintain a good attendance record and arrive at work at the scheduled time.
  • Participate in all daily store housekeeping responsibilities that include interior/exterior maintenance, product organization, etc.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Organizational skills including the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Displaying effective customer service skills on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to negotiate in an effective way with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/changing environment.
  • Being highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Being able to manage your time efficiently and appropriately.
  • This position involves a wide variety of tasks including bending, lifting and sitting. Individual must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Experience

  • Two years’ experience in a retail management position
  • High School Diploma mandatory
  • Degree or Diploma in Business/Retail preferred
  • Working knowledge with MS Office Suite

This is a representation of the responsibilities associated with the position of Assistant Store Manager. However, other tasks do exist, and the Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for performing all other duties as directed.
