Position Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the company’s growing staff resources currently located throughout Atlantic Canada. This position will require a hands-on approach as you assist with developing policies, procedures, and best practices in addition to performing the day-to-day functions of payroll, benefits, and human resources administration. Your key responsibilities in this position, along with qualifications necessary for the role, include but are not limited to:

Keys Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist with the development of human resources policies, procedures and best practices
  • Prepare employment offer letters and various employee related correspondence
  • Maintain the company’s human resources database including electronic and hard copy documents
  • Process payroll for employees in three (3) provinces
  • Coordinate the company’s Group Benefits Plan and act as liaison with our benefits provider
  • Assist departments as needed with recruitment and onboarding of new employees
  • Coordinate and maintain employee leave records
  • Other responsibilities as needed resulting from continued development of the position

Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Education Desired:

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma with a focus on Human Resources (or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience with payroll processing and related systems
  • Experience with coordinating a Group Benefits Plan
  • Comfortable preparing employment agreements and related employee correspondence
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of computerized Human Resource systems or databases considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Labour Standards and Human Rights considered an asset
