Fun and Fresh Colour Ideas for Basements
Whether it’s an apartment, a family room or a ‘man cave’, a shot of colour can brighten your basement living space and make it feel brighter and more inviting. But how to go light while still getting the right feel you’re looking for in a space? We asked our Paint Shop decorators for colour ideas for basements and here’s what they came up with.

Whites and Off-Whites
White paint doesn’t have to be boring. Choose the right undertone for your space to complement the existing colours of furniture and flooring. From Mayonnaise (2152-70) with its warm hint of yellow to Fog Mist (OC-31) with a cool and calming grey undertone, an off-white with just a hint of colour lightens a basement while still giving it personality.
Greys with Subtle Undertones
Like the off-white colours, subtle greys can add the brightness you’re looking for as you renovate a dark basement while still bringing a hint of colour. Skipping Stone (CSP-155) has a green-grey hue that gives a feel of nature, while Edgecomb Gray (HC-173) is a cool, modern shade that creates a stylish setting. The right undertone can change the whole feel of a room.
